A high school student in our Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School made an insightful connection to the Visitation order’s Foundress, St. Jane de Chantal, and victims of gun violence.

This student, Eleanor, reflected ” …over 400 years ago, in 1601, Visitation’s patroness, St. Jane DeChantal, was herself  a victim of gun violence: Her husband— while out hunting  — was accidentally shot and killed by a friend, leaving Jane a 28 year old broken-hearted widow with four young children. In fact, I’m not in charge of these things, but I would consider Jane De Chantal the patron saint of gun violence victims.”

May St. Jane de Chantal intercede for all students and for this critical issue in our society!
